What is Nitrogen?
Nitrogen Nitrogen (not to be confused with fuel oil or furnace oil) is one of the chemical elements in the periodic table that has the chemical symbol N and its atomic number 7. Nitrogen is usually in the form of a gaseous, non-metallic, inert, colorless, tasteless, and odorless gas that makes up 78% of the Earth’s atmosphere and is a major element in living tissues. Nitrogen forms important compounds such as ammonia, nitric acid and cyanides.
